I would guess people wonder why our family shares what we do. Mom and Dad say it’s because I “make an impression” on everyone I meet, that people can learn while we learn. They hope that we can help someone else. I like helping people, so it seems like a good idea.
Today, we stopped at the post office on the way home from the rainbow wash. The rainbow colors seemed so much brighter today. We got a package that Dad said was very special. I asked Mom if it was a costume, she said no, that it was too small. I guess that made sense. But I saw big things come out of small packages before, so I still was hoping….
Then Mom read us this letter:
Dad pulled these out of the package:
Mom and Dad said that the Navy Seal Team 8 and others like them all over the world do what they do to keep us safe. I’ve learned that this is a dog tag. That it is very special. That because this team gave this to me, it is even more special and I should never take it off or be sure to treat it carefully. I was worried that I couldn’t get it wet, but they said I could and that the Navy Seals did too.
I’m kinda getting what Mom and Dad keep explaining to me. Things like this are so hard for me to get. I was waiting for seals to come swim with me, and I was worried about sharks, but Mom said they were different Seals. Dad showed me pictures of the Team on the computer, so now it’s making more sense.
What I do know is that there are these people that Mom and Dad say are very special, and that those people thought I was special enough to send this to me, which makes this an even bigger special.
I haven’t taken it off. I even jumped on the trampoline with it under my shirt. I keep playing with it, and I like knowing it’s there.
Thank you Navy Seal Team 8. This is the coolest, most special and biggest gift I ever got… in a small package too!
